transition...

Thank you all so much for your prayers for safe travels and a smooth transition! We landed in the USA two weeks ago, after 24 hours of long, smooth traveling, with 48 hours of no sleep (since we started our journey at midnight). We have been busy trying to set up life here (we bought a car, surfboards, a couch and some odds and ends, and we still have a lot more to go). Zac will start working July 11th andwe move into our apartment July 15th. In the meantime, we are staying in Hill's parent's house with the entire "Last Family," including Hill's brother and his family, which has been crazy and fun! It has been so great to be with family and see our little nephews/cousins:)

It has been a bit of an adjustment driving on such smooth and organized roads, I miss all the chaos of sheep, donkey carts, mopeds, people, etc. coming at you from every direction. I dream of my friends and life back in Morocco and I wake up wondering where I am. It has been interesting to hear some of Malakai's observations and fun to process with him as we drive around, etc. We are taking it one day at a time!
some of Malakai's observations:
-"everyone listens here...kids listen to their parents..."
-while listening to the radio, "what's that...how does that work???"
-"this is a beautiful country"
-"everyone speaks English"
-"why are people speaking Spanish?"
-"in Morocco, people just pass through the red lights, they don't really stop."
-"why are there people holding signs on the street...what is advertising??"

Thanks to Babbo and Tisa, Zac and I were able to get away for a couple nights to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary, July 2nd!
