Spring Break in Italy!

Our week in Italy felt like a dream... we spent 4 days on the Amalfi coast, with views of Sorrento and Mt. Vesuvius. We toured the dramatic coastline and spent a couple of hours in Positano, a quaint village, nestled in the side of the cliffs.

We enjoyed Pompei (an old, Roman city that was buried in 79 A.D. by a volcanic eruption and preserved to reveal amazing archaeological evidence from the 1st century). We all (including Malakai) loved visualizing and learning about this historical city that is a profound representation of life so long ago.

On Good Friday, we found this beautiful, little hike up to a monastery with spectacular views!

It was finally hot enough to take a little dip in the Mediterranean (cold, but refreshing:)

We spent a day and a half in Rome and visited the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, the largest Christian church in the world (where Peter was crucified and buried), which was awe-inspiring!
In the evenings, we loved exploring the back streets of Rome, with amazing architecture (old and new), delicious pasta and you can't forget the Gelato that we all looked forward to every day!

The Pantheon, the Forum, the Palatine Hill and the Colosseum were all spectacular and it made us all want to study Roman History!

We arrived back in Morocco on Easter morning just in time for an egg sandwich breakfast (freshly made from the random man in the parking lot), and an afternoon Easter egg hunt!

HE IS RISEN!!!!
