We said our sad goodbyes to cousin Soren, Grandma Tootie:(...
...and one last tearful goodbye to Uncle Andrew, Tante Janneke, cousin Damien and Babbo and Tisa. We boarded the plane in San Diego, after watching a beautiful sunset on downtown San Diego, and the kids cried themselves to sleep. It was so sad:(
We landed at sunrise in Washington D.C. for a 12 hour layover...
...we enjoyed exploring a bit, but we were exhausted. We got back on the airplane at sunset and flew 7 hours to Madrid (landing at sunrise), where we had a 6 hour layover and then finally arrived "home" exhausted, but thankful!

wow, you guys. that was quite the trek. i think i would have lost my mind with that many flights and long layovers with the boys!!! hope you are settling in and things are looking good for the school year. we miss you!
