You know you're a third culture kid when...

Yesterday, during our family time, Malakai and I found this little natural umbrella and we decided to pretend it was our "house." So we pretended to make dinner, go to the grocery store, take naps, etc. and he ordered me around this time! (thus I got to see the world through his eyes:)
We had a lot of fun and I learned some things about Malakai's worldview!
You know you're a third culture kid when...
-He pretends to call his best friend who lives in Morocco.
-He pretends to go to the grocery store on a motorcycle and it won't start, or as soon as he starts to drive, it breaks down (we have taken the same car to the mechanic twice this week, on two separate occasions). Unfortunately, Malakai is very familiar with the mechanic, as we probably go once every three weeks. We had two cars, but we are so tired of fixing them, that the other one is just sitting on the street broken down.
-When we say we're going to go somewhere, he says, do we get to take an airplane? We have been to the airport 3 times in the last two weeks. Malakai knows everything about airplanes and is always excited for the next visitor or trip we get to go on in an airplane!
-Any restaraunt type place we go to, Malakai wants a "tosta mista" (pronounced: toshta mishta) (the cheapest, most filling food on a Portuguese menu- it's basically a grill cheese with ham).
-Every time he puts on his socks, he says, "Mommy, these are my socks from Hungary."Malakai and Kihana playing in the laundry basket! I love these kids! Mommy and Kihana leave for California tomorrow. We will miss our boys so much, but will be back soon! Ate logo!
