An Exciting Month!

Thank you all so much for your congratulations, encouragement and kind wishes to us after the birth of our baby girl! We are so grateful for all of your support, even from a distance!

Hana is three weeks old now and as you probably can imagine, our month has been consumed with breastfeeding, changing diapers, trying to keep Malakai entertained and getting some rest when we can. Unfortunately, Hana came down with a bad cold her second week of life, but she has recovered and is much more alert and we are all much happier now that she is healthy!

After quite the process of trying to register Hana, we can now say that she is OFFICIAL!! First we went to the American embassy to get a letter that says that her name is legitimate (as the Portuguese are very strict about only naming proper Portuguese names), then we could get her birth certificate at the Portuguese registry, and finally we just went and registered her birth at the American Embassy and were able to apply for her passport!! Now that she is official, once we get her passport in the mail, we are all going to apply for our visas. We appreciate your prayers as we begin the visa/residency process once again.
